Merav | Clinical Psychologist
Sometimes we find ourselves stuck in emotional patterns that once protected us but now hold us back — fuelling anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, or even unexplained health issues. Merav helps individuals understand and move beyond these patterns, fostering lasting emotional resilience and deeper self-awareness.
With a foundation in psychodynamic therapy and over a decade of local and international experience, Merav specialises in working with adults (20+) who are navigating complex trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, and challenges in their relationships — both with others and with themselves. Merav has undertaken an additional three years of advanced training in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP). This evidence-based approach accelerates emotional healing by helping clients access and process deeply held, often unconscious emotions that contribute to their suffering.
Unlike traditional talk therapy, ISTDP is highly active and collaborative; it focuses on moment-to-moment emotional experiences. By helping clients safely face painful feelings — particularly those linked to early attachment relationships — ISTDP fosters profound, long-term change. Research shows that the benefits of ISTDP are not only sustained but often increase over time.
In Merav’s work, no two sessions look the same. Therapy is tailored in real-time, adjusting to where the client is emotionally, building capacity, and gently confronting the defences that prevent meaningful change. This approach goes beyond symptom reduction, aiming for deeper emotional connection, increased self-understanding, and healthier relationships. Merav’s style is warm, compassionate, and direct. She believes that being honest and clear with clients — when done with empathy — is often the most caring approach. Her aim is always to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel truly seen, understood, and empowered to create lasting change.
Outside of her clinical work, Merav enjoys writing short stories, practising yoga, and spending quality time with family and friends.Merav consults from our Richmond practice.
