SAMANTHA MORDECH - Richmond

Meet Samantha Mordeck – Psychologist at The Three Seas

Samantha is a Melbourne psychologist and supervisor who brings warmth, creativity, and depth to her work with clients. With over a decade of diverse experience, she helps adults navigate life transitions, trauma, anxiety, relationship issues, and identity challenges.

Samantha began her career in organisational psychology, working with leadership and workplace culture. While the experience gave her valuable insights into people and organisations, she realised her passion lay more broadly in social impact. This led her to complete a Master’s in Community Psychology, where she focused on collective trauma, cultural diversity, and humanitarian systems. From supporting communities and survivors of natural disasters to working with NGOs, social enterprises and emergency services, Samantha experienced first-hand that inner healing is essential for outer change. Since joining The Three Seas Psychology in 2018, Samantha has focused on supporting individuals through the complexities of their lives and helping them create meaningful change, inside and out.

Therapeutic Approach
Samantha describes herself as an integrative psychologist in Melbourne, drawing from a range of evidence-based and trauma-informed therapies to suit each client’s unique needs. Her practice supports adults seeking help for anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges and periods of transition, and is influenced by:

  • Attachment theory – exploring how early experiences shape current relationships
  • Interpersonal neurobiology – understanding how our brain and bodies interact in healing
  • Trauma therapy and integration methods
  • Somatic therapy – incorporating the body in processing stress, distress and trauma, including somatic approaches used in trauma-informed therapy
  • Parts work – gently working with the different “parts” of ourselves, influenced by schema, gestalt and IFS approaches
    Mindfulness-based therapies and contemplative practices

Samantha’s style is warm, responsive and person-centred. She believes therapy is not about following a rigid formula but about creating an optimal space for clients to reflect, reconnect, and feel supported, whether they are seeking therapy for anxiety, processing trauma, or navigating complex life and relationship changes.

Samantha works with adults aged 25 and over. Many of her clients identify as high-functioning people who may appear successful or capable on the outside, yet struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, or identity questions on the inside. Some may also notice that past experiences are now intruding into the present. She has a special interest in supporting women through expected or unexpected life transitions, such as motherhood, career change, and grief and loss. If you’re looking for a psychologist in Melbourne who can help you build self-understanding, process trauma, and navigate change with compassion, Samantha offers a thoughtful and tailored approach.

What Clients Can Expect

  • Samantha’s goal is for every client to leave sessions feeling:
  • Understood – truly seen and heard
  • More confident in trusting themselves and others
  • Better equipped to navigate life and relationships
  • Clearer about their past, present and future

For those feeling hesitant about starting therapy, Samantha encourages beginning gently, asking psychologists questions, and trusting your instincts. She believes the right therapeutic relationship should feel respectful and encouraging. She supports clients to make choices that honour their readiness and pace.
