ANNEKA RICHMOND – Fitzroy North

Anneka is a registered psychologist with over three years of experience working across private practice and hospital-based research settings. She brings a warm, collaborative, and values-driven approach to therapy, helping clients navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, workplace stress, and perinatal transitions.

Her background in community psychology shapes the way she connects with clients, with an emphasis on empowerment, advocacy, inclusion, and diversity. Anneka believes that every person’s story deserves to be met with respect and genuine curiosity, and she creates a safe space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported. Anneka works with clients aged 16 and over and has particular expertise in the parenting and perinatal space, supporting mothers, fathers, and families as they adjust to the early years of parenthood. She also works with clients managing workplace stressors and life transitions, helping them build resilience and rediscover their sense of purpose and balance.

Her therapeutic style is gentle yet purposeful, blending Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques. Anneka is also developing her interest in Schema Therapy, continuing her commitment to ongoing professional growth and evidence-based practice.

At the heart of Anneka’s work is a deep belief in meeting clients where they are. She sees therapy as a partnership, a place to explore, challenge, and make sense of experiences in a way that feels safe and empowering.
