Provisional Psychologist Services

Counselling and psychological assessments can be offered by a number of our provisionally registered psychologists. A provisional psychologist is registered under a ‘provisional’ status, meaning they are in the final stages of their study; undertaking a Masters Program in Psychology/Clinical Psychology and soon to be registered and practicing as a General Psychologist. All our provisional psychologists are under the guidance of Principal Psychologist, Robert van de Berg.

Whilst they are yet to be fully qualified psychologists, they have undergone a minimum of 4 years study prior to their placement with The Three Seas Group, and are in regular consultation with a clinical supervisor. They are passionate about providing high quality, empathetic and holistic care. You do not need a referral or a Mental Health Care Plan to access a service with a provisional psychologist.

A provisional psychologist can offer the following services:

  • General counselling for anxiety, depression, stress, career counselling, life coaching, minor sleep concerns, panic attacks, assertiveness, health related issues, relationships concerns, self esteem, and helping to cope with life transition and adjustment.
  • Assessment based consultations, such as, administration of the WPPSI and Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC: IQ testing)
  • Skills based counselling; such as, mindfulness and meditation.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (to read more about this click here)

Seeing a provisional psychologist can be great way to get started with counselling and have the skills to work with you, collaboratively, in coming up with effective strategies to help cope with the struggles of life.
