Alana is a registered psychologist with a Master of Applied Psychology (Clinical), and a member of the APS. Alana has worked in clinical and community settings with adolescents, adults, and older individuals, undertaking both psychotherapy and psychological assessment. Alana primarily works with individuals experiencing difficulties with mood and anxiety, interpersonal relationships, life transitions and adjustment, gender and sexuality, grief and loss, and personality disorders. Although trained in a number of psychological approaches, Alana primarily works within a Psychodynamic Therapy (PDT) framework, helping individuals to address their difficulties through the development of a deeper understanding of themselves, their past and present experiences, and their unconscious motivations. With a background in philosophy and social research, Alana brings curiosity and contemplation to her work as a psychotherapist. Alana strives to be empathic, open-minded, and non-judgemental, creating a safe space for individuals to build insight and wellbeing in either a short, medium, or long-term therapeutic process.
