Statement Regarding Recent Media Coverage

The Three Seas Psychology is aware of recent media coverage concerning a former psychologist who previously practised from our clinics.

We acknowledge the findings made by the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) and recognise the significant impact this matter may have had on those affected.

Our thoughts are with the individuals who experienced harm. We recognise the courage required to raise concerns about a health professional, particularly within a therapeutic relationship where trust, safety and vulnerability are central. We acknowledge that the process of reporting concerns and participating in investigations can be difficult and distressing.

When concerns regarding this practitioner’s conduct were brought to our attention, The Three Seas Psychology followed its internal processes to assess and address the information available at the time. As further concerns emerged, the Principal Psychologist notified the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

We also encouraged individuals who raised concerns with us to report directly to AHPRA so that their experiences could be formally considered as part of the regulatory process.

Where appropriate, we supported individuals who wished to make reports to the regulator and assisted them in accessing ongoing psychological care and support.

The practitioner’s contractual relationship with The Three Seas Psychology was subsequently terminated. Throughout the regulatory investigation, we cooperated fully with AHPRA and provided relevant information and documentation requested by the regulator.

The Three Seas Psychology Group is committed to maintaining a safe, ethical and professional environment for all clients. We take concerns about practitioner conduct seriously and remain committed to supporting individuals who come forward with complaints.

We recognise that recent media coverage may be upsetting for current and former clients. Any person who has been affected and would like support, information or assistance accessing services is encouraged to contact our practice confidentially.

The wellbeing and safety of our clients will always remain our highest priority.
