Candice is a registered psychologist with a Masters degree in Psychology. She has experience working with child and adult clients in private practice, community services and public school settings. Candice works with all age ranges with particular interest and experience in trauma and sexual abuse. She also has experience with anxiety and depression, personality disorders, dissociative disorders, grief and loss, attachment disorders, eating disorders and self esteem issues. Trained in a variety of evidence based psychological therapies, Candice draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Motivational interviewing and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Candice is currently undertaking training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) to assist clients that have experienced trauma and continue to experience trauma related symptoms such as flashbacks and dissociative states. Candice is also undertaking training in Psychoanalytic psychotherapy with the aim of helping clients to understand and change complex, deep-seated and often unconsciously based emotional and interpersonal issues thereby reducing symptoms and alleviating distress. Candice strives to be empathetic, warm and compassionate at all times whilst equipping her clients with the necessary skills and techniques to reduce or manage psychological distress and symptomology, and to help enable her clients to make long term mental and behavioural changes to support effective, positive change.
